Any idea where/how to fix it so that the syntax recognition will allow a
definition for "comment from here to end of line" that is made of
ordinary characters?
I looked, came up dry, but then I'm not a programmer.

If anyone wants a syntax_def entry for BBX (www.basis.com) I have made
one. With the exception that as per the above it doesn't recognize "REM"
as a line-comment starter
so I left the c++ "//" and until xwpe gets fixed, you can insert //
after REMs for now. I suppose I just shouldn't be trying to use a C
oriented ide for a basic language. I mean, this language still requires
line numbers!

but, xwpe compiled on sco. kdevelop for example requires libraries that
require a ton of prerequisite libs to be compiled first as the
precompiled libs on Skunkware (gnu stuff compiled for sco) are all too
old. I did get tkedit working. it's syntax highlighting is in the form
of tcl plugins. harder to create/edit but, allows for wierder
recognition rules.
