I'd be interested to know what values were passed to scaleDisplacementT before the crash (in case you still have cerr's everywhere). Ok to keep the bug open. I'm using scaleDisp without problems here, and I'll have to find out how it crashes in cylinder test. It is not used in trunk starting from r2259, so it is currently harmless.
