If I am still up to date, one point is that Triaxial Testing cannot be performed with Dem3D because of Dem3D does not allow Box/Sphere interaction (and Triaxial Testing only works with Boxes as there is a problem when facets are used).
Since a lot of people use Triaxial Testing, I think that this is one reason.
