I have: I5/1333, I7/1600 and AMD X6 1090T/1600
All of them satisfy me. But if I choose the next computer, I would,
probably, take AMD X6 again.
It has 6 "real" cores, good productivity and not a bad price.
But I would suggest to take at least 2GB RAM / core.
HDD 2TB, Videocard - not sure, but one of the cheapest, about EUR50.
Anton, thanks for advice!
For now my favorite is:
i7-950 proc,
6GB (3x2GB) memory,
GeForce GT220 1GB videocard
It is a work station (simulation with yade, openfoam and visualization
with paraview) for next 3-5 years. Possible upgrade in this time is a
more memory and a other video (and may be Tesla, but don't know now...)
I want GT220 now because of limited budget and I not sure of the need
for more powerful cards (like GTX460) as well as GeForce VS Quadro (like
Quadro FX580 or new Quadro 600). What about GeForce VS Quadro?
Now I have notebook with Penryn T8100 processor and Quadro NVS140M
videocard. It allows me to comfortably simulate and visualize about 100k
particles. But I want about 3x speedup... I have not watched at market
long time, but now I haven't time to read many reviews and to choose...
What do you think about this choose?
Thanks.
