As I understand from this link http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1851299/is-it-possible-to-tell-the-branch-predictor-how-likely-it-is-to-follow-the-branch it is not really necessary to put those ___builtin's into the code, as Core2 and newer processor do this work even better.
