If the problem is paraview installation, it is packaged for Debian/Ubuntu. Save your time, compiling paraview is involved (I know what I say). sudo apt-get install paraview If you have Ubuntu 10.04, have a look at our updates https://launchpad.net/~yade-users/+archive/external (Paraview 3.6 vs. 3.4 in the official repos).
