Hi folks, question on viscous damping for a non linear elastic law, alias Hertz type. At the moment, in the code, we are considering a viscous force which depends linearly on the relative velocity at the contact. However, in this way, one cannot predict the coefficient of restitution (it is not constant). Is there someone in this community with some experience about contact viscous damping and non linear elastic behavior? What relationship would you suggest and why?
