I think you could use exactly the same equations as for periodic cases,
with velGrad like this:
velGrad(0,0)=stressController.strainRate(0);
velGrad(1,1)=stressController.strainRate(1);
velGrad(2,2)=stressController.strainRate(2);
strainRate doesn't exist explicitely in stressController at the moment
but it is not difficult to define.
