Hello,
These old images were only proofs of concepts, there is no paper on this as far
as I know. The cube elements are Box[1] elements, but the implementation is
still poor in the sense that contact on edges of the boxes are not handled
correctly.
I don't remember how the diagram was done in the second image, it is probably
not possible to do this in current version, but you can achieve the same with
yade's live plotting.
