Question #247083 on Yade changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/yade/+question/247083

Description changed to:
Hello everybody,

I've just compiled Yade-1.0.5 on my Ubuntu 64bit 12.04, I encounter this
strange error: I cannot call the 3D window. (Sometimes I need to view
this window when I debug my simulation)

from yade import qt
yade.qt.View()

And Yade returns Segment Core Dump then exits immediately. I had compiled
Yade-1.0.7 earlier and have the same error.
The 'cmake' and 'make'process ran very smoothly anyway, and there isn't any
feature being turned off, no warning except for some error with the FLOW
Engine,but it's not quite the problem here.
I did notice the warning in the installation guide [1]: **If you have Ubuntu
12.10 or older, you need to install libqglviewer-qt4-dev package instead of
libqglviewer-dev.** and installed package libqglviewer-qt4-dev instead of
libqglviewer-dev before compiling yade.

It's stranger when with Yade Daily installed at the same time it works
like a charm (sudo apt-get install yade-daily, it was an old version).
In another laptop I compiled with the same tricks with the same package
and it works too, (also same ubuntu 64bit 12.04). So is this problem of
YADE or a problem of the QT package? And how to fix it then?

Waiting for your help.
Thanks in advance.
