Hi,

Regarding the last part of your question, boundary walls are generally 
"non-dynamic" (*) in Yade, which means that their movement is unrelated with 
the forces that act on them (funny, isn't it ?).
Then, applying a dynamic force will be, in the general case, useless.

You may still change this behavior though, paying attention to define dynamic = 
True for these boundary walls. Then it would make sense to apply a dynamic 
force.
Changing the velocity with time, in conjunction with dynamic = False, is indeed 
the second possibility.
