I suggest to read the documentation of TesselationWrapper, especially this part:
"The calculation of microstrain is explained in [Catalano2014a]_ "

Actually it is the exact opposite: the strain tensor of a vertex is a
result from some calculations of all its incident tetrahedras' strain
matrices. You will find more details Catalano2014a.
