Hi Anton,
I tried it on both Ubuntu and Kubuntu 16.04 using a virtual machine. The
problem is exactly the same. Kubuntu is not supported by Canonical but
it's still based on Ubuntu and should have the same packages/libraries.
To me it looks like the problem is either related to QT or IPython.
I would appreciate feedback of other Ubuntu 16.04 users, if any.
