Hi,
On a larger scale, but for a problem maybe similar to yours, Yade has
already been used to simulate rock blocks going through a forest:

The model used for a single tree uses, I think, "ChainedCylinder" [*]
and related classes. Perhaps, it may be used to simulate one blade of
grass ?
