Question #693083 on Yade changed: https://answers.launchpad.net/yade/+question/693083
Jan Stránský posted a new comment: Sorry for late comment, I thought I have already answered.. > regarding the dynamic bar response, I neglect it, I just consider the contact force between the spere and the bar as a static, time-increasing load. I don't like this approach.. You can neglect some "minor" dynamic waves in the bar. But this whole situation is a dynamic impact, the contact force is "not much dependent" on the deflection (as a static force would be). If you are interested in (quasi)static response, just prescribe linear motion of the central node, avoiding the impact loading conditions. > What do you mean by "seems like a "chain", without proper bending stiffness"? I mean that the deformed shape is something like two almost straight lines connected in a middle hinge, while theoretically it should be a symmetric cubic parabola with horizontal tangent in the middle. cheers Jan -- You received this question notification because your team yade-users is an answer contact for Yade. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~yade-users Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~yade-users More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
