Thanks, much more understandable.
SpherePack.relDensity, as the docs suggests, is a "getter" - it returns
computed value of relative density of the packing
So yes, it can be good for checking the value.
Since you are using PeriTriaxController, you can use it as strain-
controlled (not stress controlled) compression to easily set target
dimensions (knowing total volume of spheres) to get the desired relative
density / porosity / void ratio ...
