This is intriguing.
You can print this from within the script to be sure:
print("OMP_NUM_THREADS=",os.environ['OMP_NUM_THREADS'] )
Then inspect the log files and see if it's 1.
I can't imagine why only the batch execution would be non deterministic.
Are you sure non-batch on one core is deterministic?
