Currently, neutron has separate big tent projects like networking-odl
[1], networking-onos [2] and so on for making the communication between
OpenStack and open controller/s (like ODL, ONOS and etc) possible. I
believe most of such controllers needs similar interfaces from OpenStack
and hence can be unified to single project called 'networking-
controller' . This project can address identical controller/s needs.
Such an approach will help the community in
-> Save time and effort by not working on the same stuffs across different
projects.
-> Code maintenance
-> Community will get more time in developing other stuffs rather than
repeating the same stuffs across repo's.
