This is a big change so I'm going to invalidate it as a bug. There is a blueprint for the same thing here:
https://blueprints.launchpad.net/nova/+spec/transfer-instance-ownership And there was a spec proposed at one point but it's abandoned: https://review.openstack.org/#/c/105367/ We could probably use that as the basis for a backlog spec in nova specs now - although it would probably actually be a cross-project impact spec so would need to live in oslo most likey. ** Changed in: nova Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Yahoo! Engineering Team, which is subscribed to OpenStack Compute (nova). https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1180950 Title: Openstack operators need to be able to move instances between tenants without modifying the database directly Status in OpenStack Compute (nova): Invalid Bug description: Periodically openstack operators have the need to move instances to another tenant for whatever reason. In those cases they have to log in to the database and update the instance by hand. It would be better if it could be done via the nova CLI/API/Horizon. Thanks!
