Changing the value has been discussed before, there are already some
older bugs for this. Changing the value in the API response would be a
breaking API change so would require more discussion than just a bug
fix.

nova.conf is configured with virt_type=kvm
When running hypervisor-show XXX | grep hypervisor_type
The result is always presented as QEMU

I gather that this is also the same is presented in Horizon on the
Hypervisors tab.
