this is an example of pool to_api_dict().

as you can see, it has too many copies of same objects.
note: there are only 3 objects in the dict.
while from_sqlalchemy_model has some recursion protection,
it's better to make it shallower.
especially, to_dict/to_api_dict should not do much recursion.
