John, I totally agree with you. The log in feature seems to take
longer and longer. Accessing sites, takes a little longer.

The answer is two fold.

First, keep in mind that yahoo is constantly changing their system.
What they do is update a few servers, see how it goes, then if it's ok
updates all the servers. However if it's not ok, then everyone who is
trying to log on to yahoo gets pushed to a new working server. So
instead of a hundred people per server, you may have 5000 people per
server. Of course those numbers are wrong, but you get what I mean.

Also, there are people out there with program that like to try to take
yahoo down. They want to deactivate the servers, or the yahoo.com
servers, etc. Every time these people attack, yahoo must pull
resources from the standard business, to protecting itself, which of
course slows EVERYONE down.

Hope this makes sense.
