Use the Status Restorer plug-in. It's perfect for fixing this problem.

I have a related problem: I always log in invisible to everyone, but
if Yahoo kicks me off, it instantly logs me back on automatically as
"available". I can't tell you how annoying that is... just because
I'm online doesn't mean I want to talk to all of my friends.
I have "log me on automatically" and "remember my id" unchecked. I'm
running Win2000 pro.
Yahoo 7 never did this to me.
Any thoughts on why this is going on?
