It sounds like a driver issue. Try reloading your webcam software/drivers
on the hard drive with XP Home... the problem OS. If I remember correctly,
the last time I had issues similar to this a few years back, it had to do
with the cam drivers being installed in the wrong place. I think they need
to be in the System32 folder or sub-folder, since the same drivers run the
cam for all applications that utilize the cam... but I'm not positive. It's
been a few years.

I take that back. I just checked MSCONFIG and my vsnpstd.exe (cam driver)
is in my C:\WINDOWS folder but I'm pretty sure there are other drivers
related to webcams that load into other folders. It's been a while.

I just did another search on my computer and see the vsnpstd.exe and
vsnpstd.dll are in also in the C:\Program Files\Common Files folder.

3. Very strange YM Webcam hang...

Ok....the short version first.
If I click on "My Webcam".....YM hangs in a nasty way....cannot end the
task, only option is restart, and that takes some effort. I have already
tried the YM Webcam registry entry that YM help suggests.

Now...the strange part.
In the same box, I have two disks that I boot to via bios...one for work,
one for personal. The problem system is XP Home....the other is XP Pro. Both
have the same version of YM. The cam works fine in the XP Pro system....it
also works fine in my sons XP Home system. The problem system is a new
install...(previously had W2K....couldn't resist CompUSA's $39 sale last
week on XP). The only thing that I can think of is that the other systems
had previous versions of YM....got to
8.1.0.209 by means of upgrades. Are previous versions of YM available
anywhere on the website? I am at a loss for ideas....

John
