It may be hyperthreading bug. See: http://blog.charlescarroll.com/chazblog/?p=109 and turn off Hyperthreading in Bios.
Hyperthreading makes one CPU look like 2 and its not quite the same as a dual core chip so code that works fine on 1 CPU may need tweaking to run in Hyperthread, and on Dual Cores, and the Yahoo low level tech support and consumers do not know why. Code that works fine on 1 CPU with => hyperthreading off <= may not work fine on Dual Cores or 1 CPU with hyperthreading on. And it may be fixed in a future YM. I would love to know if Hyperthreading off fixes your issue or not. I know it fixed mine even when I had no webcam at all in play. On 1/20/07, rksnj67 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
I installed the latest version of Messenger (8.1 I think). I've had nothing but trouble. When I log on, it locks up my computer. When someone sends me a request to join my friends list, it doesn't work. I've never had any problems with earlier versions of Messenger. Unfortunately, I can't find any older versions. Any help with my problem would be appreciated!
