Hi there,

It sounds to me as if you are having problems because of either your IE
cache or your Windows registry or a combination of the both of them.

I suggest you run CCleaner! You can download a free copy at
www.ccleaner.com <http://www.ccleaner.com> . The proccess is fairly
simple. In CCleaner you only have 2 options you need to use Clean and
Issues.

    1. Clean - You run this to clean out your cache and the Windows temp
files and other useless files. Click on Clean then Analyse. It may take
a bit of time depending upon how much crap there is and your proccessor
speed. Once it has finished, you will see in the main window how much
will be cleaned. Now click on Clean. This will takes much less time then
on Analyse.
    2. Issues - You run this to clean out of the registry the entries
left behind by the uninstaller. It will probably clean out the entries
that were causing you the problem in the first place. Click on Issues
and then Scan for Issues. Youmay see a thermometer type of display going
across the top of your screen several times. Once it has finished, click
on Fix Issues. You will be asked if you wish to save the registry
changes, reply yes, then Fix All Issues. Now you can exit CCleaner.

I would also suggest you defragment your hard drive after using CCleaner
and before you re-install the messenger.

I hope this will work for you but if it doesn't feel free to contact me
as you may have a trojan or virus residing on your computer.

Take care and have a great day,

John
