Linda, I think the multiple messages is a Yahoo Groups glitch right now. I own a couple of groups that are moderated and I am seeing this problem with them as well. If you look at the header info on each email, you will see it has the same "sent time", meaning it was sent once but is somehow getting quadru-triplicated (lol.. is that a word) by Yahoo servers. I've been getting 7-8 also... so far just from yahoo.com email addresses.
