C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Profiles\(your yahoo ID)\Archive You may be able to make a copy of the entire "Profile" folder and then transfer it to your new computer... IF the new version of YM is compatible with the older version you had on 98.. or rather the file management system on Vista. If your YM program and archives are in the same place on Vista, then it may work. This might be something that the file transfer wizard is capable of doing to transfer all of your old files from your old computer to your new computer. Check with where you purchased your computer to see if they will provide this service... or you can just do it manually using a USB thumb drive or CD's.
