Most of the time this has nothing to do with you. This is yahoo,
either doing updates, or most of the time this happens if yahoo
detects no activity from your account.

If you're signed into yahoo, and are reading your email, or a web
site, or something else - yahoo will disconnect you.

It happens less frequently when you are in pm with someone or doing
something in yahoo messenger.

Yahoo will also send out a packet which asks your computer if you're
online, if your computer doesn't reply in the specified amount of
time, yahoo will assume you're offline, and kick you out.

So if yahoo is checking your status at the same time as you're
downloading something, or browsing, or doing something that takes up
internet bandwidth, your computers reaction is slower and you'll get
knocked off.

This also happens when your firewall or antivirus do a scan of the
ports, etc.

We'll just have to wait and see until yahoo is done messing with the
servers.

it signed me out, for no apparent reason, a week ago and I have been
trying to sign in ever since. It won't let me. I have uninstalled it
and reinstalled it. I even set up a whole new system and downloaded
it again. I sign in and then nothing happens it just pops back to the
sign in window, I have tried removing my firewall, although I never
had a problem before. I am tearing my hair out!!!
