I remember the one you mean, I read that one too. I think (comming from a law
enforcement family) I have spoken to my father and 2 brothers about this
subject when it 1st came up, they are right about one thing, law enforcement
officials DO need every bit of help they can get. The question asked of me was
"Would I want these ppl preying on my children?" NO, I wouldn't and I know the
states they work in abide by the law in catching online preditors such as
these. I think that if you aren't doing anything wrong, and you have nothing to
hide, then where is the problem? As long as you aren't violating anyones civil
rights, then it should be ok. If you are breaking the law then you should be
punished for the crime you have committed. I do think stiffer penalties for
sexual preditors is needed though, to get the point across that our children
are not to be messed with.

                                                                     Kathy

Subject: [Y!M] Someone's recent question about "To Catch A Predator" entrapment
issue...

Someone out here was recently asking about the legality or ethics of shows like
NBC's "Dateline: To Catch A Predator" type shows and it appears one of the
other TV news shows is now investigating that shows tactics and ethics. I was
reading Thursday's Bill O'Reilly newsletter and here is one of Thursday nights
segments on his program on Fox News Channel:
"20/20's Brian Ross will tell us about ABC’s investigation into questionable
tactics used by Dateline NBC's "To Catch A Predator" sex sting series... "
I guess you could Google for more info about ABC investigation into NBC "To
Catch A Predator" or start watching "The O'Reilly Factor" on Fox News Channel
to see what they say to Bill O'Reilly.
Here is one link from a Google search about the topic.
