I'm don't use Yahoo email except for the occasional checking of my inbox/spam folder to see if I have any legitimate mail, so I can't help with that. I ONLY access YM by clicking on the shortcut for YM that I have on my task bar. There's a good chance that you blocked it via IE's pop-up blocking security feature. If you can access YM by Start>All Programs> then that should work and it won't be blocked by IE's security settings.
