You probably chose the option of "make this my display picture" or something
like that.  Go to the main Messenger Menu and choose "My display image" and
you can change it there.  

If you are wanting to hide it from your significant other and they are
computer savvy, you also need to go into your Yahoo Messenger Program folder
and delete the Photo Sharing folders created for each photo share event.
Even when people remove the photos from the view you are seeing, they are
still saved in a folder, usually named with a series of letters.
