OK. I'm guessing you access your yahoo mail via your browser (internet
explorer, firefox, etc.) so that is simply a Yahoo server issue with their
mail servers, not really anything to do with Yahoo Messenger.

Why don't you get Gmail, from Google? http://www.gmail.com It's about a
million times better than Yahoo mail. It's faster, better spam filtering,
labeling (instead of creating folders), POP3 accessible so you can download
your mail to Outlook, Outlook Express or other mail client, virtually
unlimited storage, etc., etc., etc.

I have a Yahoo mail address and I get 10 pieces of spam for every legitimate
message in my inbox. With Gmail, I rarely get spam in my inbox and I get
around 200 legitimate emails a day. Occasionally, Gmail will send a piece
of legitimate mail to my spam folder, as does most spam filtering, so folks
should still check their spam folders on a daily basis to make sure good
mail isn't getting trashed by the ISP spam filters. I still come across
people everyday who have their email set up to trash all spam every day so
they never even realize good mail is getting trashed. I have my spam
folders set up to keep the mail for 30 days so if I go out of town or
something, I can still skim through the spam folder to make sure good mail
didn't get lost. Some people don't even have their spam folders activated
so the ISP just trashes anything they think is spam and the people never
know.

When are you getting the error? That sounds like a browser error, not
something that comes on with Yahoo Messenger. I have never had a server
error message with YM. It either connects or the yellow smiley bounces up
and down while it's trying to connect and then turns gray if it can't. Are
you getting that error message when you are trying to access YM from your
web browser or when you are trying to open a chat room from YM? That's the
only times that I think a browser type error message would come up. Just
use your Start Menu> All Programs> Yahoo Messenger (or you can pin YM to
your quick launch in your taskbar or frequently used programs on your Start
Menu).

Speaking of the yellow smiley, I was reading that the original typed smiley
:-) had it's 25th Birthday last week when I was looking at Yahoo Messenger
blog. Happy Birthday Mr. Smiley!

Just curious how big the server problem is right now.
