I would NEVER beta test YM. I do beta test many other programs but YM has too many bugs in it's final releases... there's no way I'd subject my poor computer to it's early releases. LOL
I'm glad some people do it though and if you are pretty good with your computer and keeping it fine tuned, backed up, etc., then go for it! Just make sure you do a full uninstall of your current version, clean out your registry and then find the full download of the Beta version (usually around 10MB), not the "installer version" (usually around 500kb) that Yahoo pushes on people through their download page. The installer version is far more likely to have corrupted files as part of the download and install. Heck, I don't even upgrade to the latest final release of YM until a new version is being beta-tested. I'm still using 7.5xxx but maybe it's time for me to upgrade to 8.xxx if 9.0 Beta is finally coming out.
