You do not mention updating Java or checking to see if it is the current version. A simple way to check all of your software to see if it's up to date is by running the FREE Secunia Software Inspector. I've been using it a couple of months now. It will check all of your programs for updates or newer versions and give you a report. Then sign up for their email reminder and they will send you an email whenever they update their definitions.
