Tell us more about your computer set up. Which OS? Which version of YM? Which browser are you using? When are you having problems... chat rooms or IM'ing a friend?
One thing to do, regardless of the above answers is to make sure you have a good, clean install of YM. Go to my blog article http://lennyvasbinder.blogspot.com and do a full uninstall, cleanup and reinstall of YM. Also run the Secunia Software Inspector to make sure that your system is up-to-date as far as ancillary software like Java, Flash, etc.: http://secunia.com/software_inspector/ You may not want to update everything it advises but you at least want to know what is out of date on your computer. For example, I still run YM vs. 7.5 instead of the current 8.x version because 7.5 works fine for everything I need and people are still having trouble with 8.x.
