When you upgraded to YM9, did you get the full download program from one of the 3rd party sites like FileHippo.com or did you go to Messenger.Yahoo.com and download the installer app from Yahoo? I find that when using the installer app, there are more likely to be problems with the installation. The installer app from Yahoo is around 500kb where the full download of the YM program is around 10MB. With the installer version, you download the installer and then it goes online and downloads the rest of YM but I've seen many security programs (firewall, antispyware, etc.) block certain aspects of the program when being done this way. Of course, I haven't tried that fix on a Vista machine yet since I finally came kicking and screaming into Vista with my newest computer and I haven't had any probs with YM 8.1x on it but part of the reason is because I got the full download version from FileHippo.com.
