I'm guessing you sent this directly to me instead of through the YM group so
I'm forwarding my reply to the group also.

If you haven't used Windows Vista before, there are security features in
place in Vista, called UAC (User Access Controls... I think that's the right
words for the acronym). You have to make sure you are an administrator.

What I would do is download the full version of YM that you want from
http://www.FileHippo.com. I suggest version 8.1x. I have it running on my
Vista Home Premium laptop with no problems.

Download it to your preferred download place. Some folks download stuff to
their Desktop, some to a folder called Downloads, but I have my own filing
system on my computers where I create folders in My Documents where I also
keep the programs that I download.

Once download, right click on the file and there's a place to put a check
about running this program as an administrator, or something like that. I
do not have my Vista computer turned on right now. Once you've checked
that, then run the download. It should install properly. I'm 90% sure that
is how I had to do new programs when I first started using Vista when I've
been an XP user for so long.

Other times, even after a program has been installed, you might have to
right click on the Start Menu program choice and put a check mark to run as
administrator. I know I had to do that with Spybot even after I fully
installed it on my Vista Home Premium computer or Spybot wouldn't immunize
or update properly.
