No clue. Could be Yahoo's recent server issues and migration to new server farms. Could be the Beta version. I'm not a Mac user so maybe one of the other Mac users might offer some kind of technical reason that your computer could be the cause, but I doubt that it's your computer.
Personally, I find Yahoo Messenger to be buggy enough in an established version that I would never use a Beta version. I do regularly Beta test lots of other programs but Yahoo simply doesn't provide any support to Beta testers, at least not that I've ever seen, whereas other software companies have special forums and tech support resources when Beta testing their software.... which is why you are here rather than at an actual Yahoo Tech Supported forum for Beta users... they don't exist. I like Yahoo Messenger and use it often but the tech support simply does not exist. At least with most other free software, everything from Firewalls to AV and Anti-Malware programs, they at least set up official user support forums for their products. With Yahoo, it took users to set up this Yahoo Group and other forums in order for folks to get some help... but rarely do we hear from an actual Yahoo Messenger Tech Support person.. if ever.
