Give us more info. Which operating system (Windows XP, Vista, Mac OSX, etc.)? Which version of YM (click the Help Menu, then About)?
I'm not sure what you mean by "updated... through her mail service source..." so tell us more about that also. Regardless of the above information, if I was you, I would do a full uninstall, clean up your computer and then download a full version of YM, either 8.1X or 9.0x and get a clean start. This will take about an hour or so but you would be insured a clean install of a fresh version of YM instead of trying to fix the broken one. I have instructions for doing this for Windows XP (and Vista is similar but I don't know much about Mac's) on my blog at: http://lennyvasbinder.blogspot.com/2007/11/how-i-always-do-clean-instal-ofl- yahoo.html I still use YM 8.1x on a couple of my computers but did recently update my Vista computer to 9.0x and it seems to be a little bloated but basically works the same as 8.1x. It comes with several add-ons enabled that I had to disable to get rid of some of the bloat but I would still recommend 8.1x to most users, especially if they do not have a top-of-the-line computer with lots of resources (speed, RAM, etc.).
