How display pics show up is controlled by the displayer of the pic and
Yahoo. I've been seeing LOTS of blacked out display pic boxes lately so I'm
not sure if Yahoo has made changes to how display pics are displayed or,
with all of the server issues, with Yahoo moving their server farms around,
that could be a big cause of display pic issues as well.

On a side note, I've also been noticing a LOT of profiles are showing up as
blank or private (or not built yet) again. They had that problem when they
moved to the new profile format and dumped any information from the old
profiles instead of migrating it over. After enough outcry from users,
Yahoo admitted they did not dump the old information and migrated it on over
to the new profiles... but I think the server farm moving has caused much of
that to disappear again... hopefully only for a short time.

As a group owner and moderator of several (probably a dozen) Yahoo Groups
(but not this one), I use Profile info (and whether the person even has a
profile) as a factor in deciding whether someone gets approved for
membership. If they have a "normal" looking profile, then they probably are
NOT bots. Uh Oh.. maybe I shouldn't have said that as now the bots will
make themselves look "normal" to try and infiltrate the groups... but I have
other obstacles they have to pass as well. ;-)

If anyone has had trouble getting their profile built/edited, here's a post
by Netti from this group that explains it in detail... even helping me to
figure out how to edit and make them stick, for the new profiles a while
back. http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Yahoo_Messenger/message/6115

Subject: [Y!M] Display Pic

Why is it now that when my friend is offline I can no longer see their
display pic on the messenger box where as before I could?
