Is he signed into YM from a Mobile device or possibly just signed into his Yahoo Mail and has the YM module signed in also... or is he possibly using a 3rd party IM'ing program such as Trillian? The only times I've seen functions "grayed-out" and not usable is under the above three instances.

With all my YM friends, I seem to have full functions.. that is: I have audibles, buzz, call, activities, photo, webcam, etc. However, I tried to "Buzz" my son this morning and noticed about the only feature I have available with him is Activities, Emotocons and Format..
