Lenny,

YES, I get that exact same msg.  But,there are times when it just sits there
and does nothing also.  I am guessing those times (not doing anything), those
rooms are at or over capacity (whatever that may mean!)

Just to make sure we're on the same page, you've been getting the "You have
been signed out..." messages while trying to get into a Chat Room but your
YM is staying signed on... right? That's what is happening to me.

There is also a pop up message that will tell you that you've been signed
out of YM if "you" or someone using your ID and PW sign into YM on another
computer. I just want to make sure that you are having the Chat Room
problems. I haven't really used my Vista computer with YM 9.0x much lately
so I can't really say whether it's a 9.0x problem or just a YM Chat Room
problem in general.

Since the Chat Rooms are really a separate monster from YM, I don't think
Chat Room problems are really related to YM as much... unless the problems
happen with IM'ing someone from a Chat Room or something like that. We do
use YM to get into a Chat Room and use YM to IM people once in a Chat Room
but once you open a Chat Room window, it's pretty much a separate piece of
software that is running the Chat Rooms and the Chat Rooms are more tied to
the browser than the YM software.

As far as YM causing your computer to freeze up... how long is it freezing
up for? A few seconds or do you have to reboot the computer? Is it
freezing up with Chat Room usage or when just using YM?

Have you opened Task Manager and set the view to the Processes Tab and then
sort the CPU column to see which process or processes are jumping way up in
CPU usage when the freeze up is happening?

Lenny,

The part about it saying "You have been signed out..." has happened to be A
LOT also over the past few days. I am currently running Y!M 9.0.0.2162.

Also, I found a bit of a work around for that problem I had earlier, where
when running Y!M it would cause the pc (Vista Home Premium) to freeze. I
have found if I keep a window with IE 8 open and running, this helps. I
don't have a clue as to why it would tho. Just another one of those freaky
things with Yahell and Microsoft!

I didn't post about this prior to now, figuring someone else would,
but for
the past day or so, while trying to get into various Chat Rooms, I
would get
the red "You've been signed out..." message, at the bottom of the
Chat Room
window, usually before I can even enter the CAPTCHA code and then
the IE8
window where I was entering the CAPTCHA code would show up as a
blank white
page with a Technical Error code.

I didn't see any other postings about this so I thought it was just
my YM
acting up but then I checked with a few other Chat Room users and
they were
also having the problem.

Has everyone been having these problems getting into Chat Rooms?

I hope that between the problems with getting the CAPTCHA IE8
windows to
even load a couple of days ago and now this issue with getting into
Chat
Rooms... that it's only Yahoo!, Inc. upgrading the servers or trying
some
new security protocols to try and stop the continued flood of
spam-bots in
the Chat Rooms.

Let me know how things have been for the rest of the group.
