It sounds to me like their objections were quite reasonable.  They
just weren't expecting to have to flex with the chaos as much as
turned out necessary.  Fair enough.  I hope 2001's YAPC learns from
this and can avoid tripping up on sponsors expectations.

What has this done for the $$$ situation?  Do you need more bucks
to break even?
