Hi Vinod, Beside the HA work Subru mentioned (YARN-2573), we are working on a few more improvements of the reservation system under umbrella YARN-2572.
A few patches are already checked in in 2.8 (e.g., YARN-3454, YARN-4248, YARN-4358), these are a combination of tooling and performance improvements (all transparent to users that are not using reservations, and backward compatible improvements for folks that are using reservations). We are trying to get as much of this finished by the 2.8 release cut, however we should not hold up the release for this too much (e.g., YARN-4359 is being coded as we speak and might not make it). Please let me know whether this sounds good, and whether it is fine to keep committing these patches (YARN-4340, YARN-4420, YARN-4360, YARN-4359) as they become ready to 2.8 until is finalized.
