I read this as more than just documentation. It is about exposing the final
LOGDIR as env to the containers so that they can decide where to write logs at
run-time.
As of today, AMs do have a not-so-straight way of doing this: an AM can
explicitly set SOMEENV=<LOGDIR> and we promptly do the appropriate string
replacement. But I think it is useful to set it explicitly.
