Hey [~leftnoteasy]. The fate of branch-2.8 is still up in the air, but at this
point it seems to be leaning towards leaving branch-2.8 as its original branch
(and not re-branching from head of branch-2). I would like to go ahead and do
the backport of YARN-4108/YARN-4822 and YARN-4390 to branch-2.8, regardless.
Any objections?
