Generally it looks fine to me.
However, I think we may need to see whether a variable name change will also
cause compatibility issue.
For eg: in NodeLabelProto, earlier it was {{optional string nodeLabel = 1;}}.
Now its renamed as *name* instead of *nodeLabel*.
I made code changes as well. Will share a patch if you havent made the changes
yet.
