Yes, ATS will fetch it metadata for an application. Btw, it is there this is
there in all the filters since beginning

Should we rephrase it? If so, then we need to change in all the API filters.

If userid, flowname and flowrunid are not specified then timeline reader will
fetch flow context information based on cluster and appid while executing the
query.
