no, it is not absolute, it is relative to the HADOOP_HOME.
bq. I see this as an absolute path -
"/share/hadoop/${hadoop.component}/yarn-service-examples".
I think this is just the convention in the hadoop-yarn-dist.xml? all other
parts start with '/'
